What is the Most Visible Sign of a LEED Building? It should be the Countertop or Reception Desk.

Building LEED is the right thing to do. It is also really good business. Your clients want the whole world to know. It’s a source of pride.

So why not show it off with the single most environmentally sustainable countertop on earth? IceStone is more than just LEED credit eligible, it is the only Cradle to Cradle certified countertop on the market. Made with recycled glass and no chemical binders, it’s a beautiful – and very visible – show piece for any green consumer.

If you really think about it. So much of making a building green is in the guts of the thing. But when it comes to the things that tenants or visitors can see and touch (and brag about) there is no more visible sign of environmental awareness than what they see everyday – the kitchen countertop or office reception area.

That is why so many famous LEED developments have featured IceStone countertops.  The LEED Platinum Bank of America Building, Microsoft’s LEED Gold Headquarters, even the folks that invented LEED, the Green Building Council itself, installed IceStone!

Under LEED v4.1 using IceStone has never been easier or made more sense. In both building material ingredient transparency or optimization, the credits have become harder for every other surface manufacturer, but easier for IceStone. With our industry best recycled content and sole Cradle to Cradle countertop, we are made for LEED.  (Projects in the area of our New York factory get a double bonus!).

So if you are going to design LEED, make sure to show it off. Specify IceStone.
