White House visits IceStone on NY1

The White House Council on Environmental Quality visited IceStone last Wednesday, June 15, 2011 to showcase IceStone as a prime example of how companies can successfully create green jobs in the United States.  The Chairperson of the Council, Nancy Sutley, said “It’s great to see what’s going on here at IceStone, the sustainable manufacturing, great to see what’s going on at the Navy Yard, the revitalization of this community, the jobs being created here.” Ms. Sutley is the principal environmental policy advisor to President Obama.  Ms. Sutley toured IceStone’s facility and participated in a panel discussion on green manufacturing with Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn Borough President, and other Brooklyn Navy Yard tenants. Ms. Sutley was so impressed by IceStone that she profiled us in the White House Blog: Manufacturing Our Nation’s Clean Energy Future. The White House also invited Michelle Gibson, IceStone CEO & President, to write about green manufacturing on the White House blog.  Read her post “The Comeback of American Manufacturing” here.
