IceStone recycled glass and concrete surfaces are manufactured in Brooklyn, New York. Our facility is a converted 19th century building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Since our founding in 2003, we have made many improvements to the building, while still retaining its historic exterior.
- We installed skylights to reduce our energy consumption. We offset 100% of the energy we do use with renewable energy credits.
- We have a state-of-the-art water recycling system that filters 100% of our manufacturing water. No slurry ever goes into the waste stream. The sediment from the water recycling system is then compacted and recycled for agricultural use.
- We recycle any unusable glass or cement into roadbed.
Our goal is to become a zero-waste facility. We're pretty close; we currently recycle over 90% of our waste. Find out more about our sustainability initiatives here.
