The winner of the 2010 photo competition is Maria Midani of the Georgetown Design Group for the Benning Public Library. The fabrication of this winning installation was done by Norwood Marble & Granite.

The Benning Public Library

“IceStone was used because of the material's environmentally friendly characteristics, its LEED rating, the consistency of the patterns and the rich palette of available colors.”

Ms. Midani will travel on a Lindblad expedition to Arctic Norway. Lindblad, in partnership with the National Geographic Society, follows a set of Guiding Principles that have earned the company awards for environmental stewardship, innovative travel philanthropy, sustainable cuisine, and conservation education.
